On Thursday, Senate Republicans voted to end Planned Parenthood’s federal funding.
The bill would take away the federal funds that Planned Parenthood would normally receive from the Federal Government.
During the 2014 fiscal year, Planned Parenthood received around $528.4 million in government money, according to its tax reports and annual filings. Another $257 million came from private donors such as Warren Buffet, who donated over $60 million to the program.
Democrats tried restoring those funds, but their effort was rejected on a near party-line vote of 54-46.
The White House has pledged that Obama will veto the bill when the House sends it his way in the coming days.
